Overview
This - the first release of the Model Exporter tool
for Relic's Company of Heroes - will allow modders to create textured
meshes and put them into Company of Heroes. Animations and physics are
unsupported at this time, and likely depend on the currently unreleased
Object Editor tool. The decision was made to release the tools in their
current state so that mods which depend upon custom models can begin to
get properly started, rather than wait even longer for the finished
tools to be released. InstallBefore installing, you will require: - 3DS Max 7 or 8, with latest service packs installed
- A good image editing program, eg. Photoshop or The GIMP (free)
- DirectX 9.0c installed and configured for use with 3DS Max
- The Burner Tool and pipeline to be setup
Installing the model exporter is a two stage process: - Install max scripts, shaders and other files. There are two ways to do this: automated installer or manual setup
- Configure 3DS Max for using scripts
